The guaranteed interprofessional minimum wage (SMIG) and the guaranteed agricultural minimum wage (SMAG) are instituted by the decree n░ 73-247 of May 26, 1973. These wages include the transport allowance of five dinars instituted in July 1986 by decree 86-691 (Jort N░41 of the 18 July 22, 1986).
Increases of the SMIG and the SMAG took place in May for the years 1995 and 2000, in August for the years 1991, 1994, 1998 and in July for the year 2001.
